Evangelina Shirley Mabusela
Shirley Mabusela holds a BA Social Work Degree from the University of the North, a post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Social Work Practice from Wits and a Management Diploma from Wits. She has held directorships and management positions at the Johannesburg Child Welfare Society, the Children's Foundation, and the National Children's Committee. She has served as Deputy Chairperson and Chairperson of the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC).
Shirley currently serves as a Trustee and Board Member of a number of organizations, including the Centre for Education Policy Development, the Human Rights Institute of South Africa, the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, the Centre for Human Rights and the Centre for Child Law, both based at the University of Pretoria, NCRC, COPES SA, The Teddy Bear Clinic and the Freedom Park Trust. She is also serving as a member of the University of Venda Council. She is the Chairperson of the Gauteng Executive Committee of SAWIMA (South African Women in Mining Association) and in that capacity, serves on the National Executive Committee of SAWIMA as National Treasurer.

Simangele Esther Ann-Maria Mngomezuluhas diplomas in Public Relations, Community Development and a Certificate Executive Preparation Programme. She has worked at Anglo American Corp. of S.A ( Pty) Ltd as an Assistant Information Retrieval Officer for 15yrs joined Supplementary education as National Fund Raiser.
She is the
owner of Thandekile Investments & NESA Mining doing sweeping and vamping , Chairperson of Black Economic Empowerment Cleaning Association (BEECA) , first general secretary of South African women in Mining Association for 10yrs.
CEO for South African Women in Mining Association ( SAWIMA) , CEO for South African Women in Mining Investment Holdings ( SAWIMIH), member of the advisory board of the Minister of Minerals and Energy, member of the Mining Industry Tripartite HIV & AIDS Committee trustee in the PPC trust, also board member of non executive director of Exxaro.

Lucy Pumla Ngwabeni
She was born in Cape Town, schooled in the then Transkei and she moved to Matlosana.She started a brick making project in Kanana, Orkney which had about 12 employees. It was one of the projects that were delivering bricks for the first RDP Projects in kanana, in 1995.Her interest in Entrepreneurship earned her some short courses in Smme division of the then Potch University .She went to India to Study entrepreneurship in Ahmedabad.
She is a CEO of Rebawone Trading Consortium which has tried different mining ventures. She has just applied for mining permits in the North West Province. She is part of the Consortium that has been awarded the N12 Treasure route Development by the City Council of Matlosana. She is involved in Property Development Project that is about to start in Ella ton, Klerksdorp. She is a Director of a company called BNG which is into mining and training of small scale miners.
Her Political involvement made her to be elected as an ANC Ward Councilor for Klerksdorp Ward 26 in the year 2000.As she have passion for development she established her self in mining, construction and Property Development. She is currently the Provincial Chairperson of the South African Women in Mining Association (SAWIMA).She is ready to be involved in any mining deal as it is said that experience is the best teacher. She is a tried and tested Entrepreneur; she was part of the historical group of women who engendered ASGISA.
She is an ambassador of her province as she was given an award by
The Honorable Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Ms Elisabeth Thabethe recognizing her involvement on women developmental issues.
She is currently serving on the following structures.

Zuki Mkatu
Zukiswa (Known as Zuki) is the Chief Executive Officer of Siyemba Business Enterprise (PTY) LTD
After completing high school studies, Zuki started her career and acquired intensive training in
marketing, management and leadership skills while under the employment of Old Mutual, where she
worked until the level of Sales and Marketing manager until March 1995.
She then started her own company in Estate Agency, property development and management in 1998.
In 2003 she established Siyemba Business Enterprise which started as a close corporation and through
her management has grown the company that is now registered as an (PTY) LTD, with two (2)
shareholders. .
Her interest in mining was developed in 2003 by an encounter with Ex-Mine Workers who are involved in
informal Small Scale Mining operations in Eastern Cape. This led to research and continued interaction
with all operators in rural areas of the province and resulted to the identification of some of the major
needs of the industry being training intervention. Siyemba was born and training service provision
commenced with support from Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) throughout the nine provinces.
Zuki is a self made entrepreneur who empowered herself with knowledge and certificates in the fields of:
- Certificate in Estate Agency - Estate Agency Affairs Board (1997);
- Property Management - College of Project Management Development;
- Quality Management Systems ISO:9001: 2000;
- Occupational Health and Safety A Series ISO 18001 (SAATCA);
- OHSAS Legal Requirements - South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) 2006;
- Skills Development Facilitation in the mining industry
- Executive Preparation Programme in the Mining and Minerals Sector – University of
Johannesburg and UNISA.
At Siyemba, Zuki’s key duties and responsibilities encompass the organizational strategy and business
development, with particular focus in rural mining development.
She is a committee member of Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) technical reference group (TRG)
for developing and writing of Unit Standards, Learning Guides and Qualifications in Mining. She is
appointed on contract by the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) as the Skills Development Facilitator
and Training Coordinator for the Eastern, Northern and Western Cape Provinces.
She is also a Board Member and General Secretary of the South African Women in Mining Association
(SAWIMA) and chairperson of the Eastern Cape branch. She actively participates in forums dealing
challenges relating Health and Safety in Mines and challenges facing women in the mining industry.
